OUR AUTHORIZER
Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is the authorizer for William C. Abney Academy. As the authorizer, GVSU oversees the charter contract and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations. GVSU appoints the Academy's Board of Directors and provides training sessions for the Board.
The Charter Office of Grand Valley State University supports the educational choices and opportunities for all children in the State of Michigan, regardless of their race, natural heritage, culture, or economic status. As such, GVSU ensures that academic goals are being met.
